Who is Shaun Booker

Shaun Booker, widely recognized by his stage name BallBeatz, is a seasoned music producer with over a decade of experience in the music industry. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Shaun has solidified his position as a creative powerhouse by collaborating with numerous local artists from both the St. Louis and University City areas. His passion for creating dynamic, high-quality instrumentals has earned him a reputation as a go-to producer for emerging talent, blending artistry and professionalism into every project he undertakes.

Shaun’s creative talents extend beyond music production and into the realm of film. In 2015, he appeared in the short film “Splatterdirected by Cole Hieronymus. Taking on an acting role, Shaun's performance contributed to the film’s success as it was entered into the St. Louis Film Festival and subsequently earned a spot in the international film festival later that year. In 2024, Shaun showcased his versatility yet again by lending his voice as a voice-over artist in “Your Last Wishes, directed by Mason Beck. The film premiered to much acclaim, further cementing Shaun’s footprint in the entertainment world.

Shaun’s passion for collaboration and education led him to California, where he joined forces with fellow St. Louis native Jason D. Harris (Mind of the Noise), a music technology educator based in Los Angeles. Together, they worked on creative projects and partnered with the Boys and Girls Club at Coke Studio at L.A. Live. There, they taught kids about music production technology and MIDI mapping, sharing their expertise to inspire and educate the next generation of creators. Their efforts were supported by manager Rob Rettberg, ensuring a successful and impactful program. Closer to home, Shaun has also dedicated his time and talents to giving back to the community where he grew up. He has worked closely with his former sixth-grade math teacher, Mama Lisa, to document her storytelling events at the History Museum in St. Louis, Missouri. Mama Lisa, the founder of Fundisha Enterprises, uses the power of storytelling to educate and uplift her audience. Shaun’s involvement in recording and preserving these moments showcases his deep commitment to community service and cultural preservation.

Shaun’s community engagement doesn’t stop there. He was invited to participate in the prestigious end-of-year event with the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis. As the head mascot for their all-white Dayla Affair, Shaun brought energy and enthusiasm to the celebration, further highlighting his multifaceted talents and his role as a community leader.
